Wild Hare's newest plane is also one of our oldest and certainly our most popular ever. The new Edge 540T V2 is meant to provide an ideal entry level airplane for the pilot who wants to move up to gasoline powered airplanes and away from glow engines. At the same time it provides a platform for many engines whether they be featherweight or are a little overweight for their size but still perfectly good engines. The new Edge is a slightly modified 28% scale Edge 540T. The T (for Tandem) model of the Edge has a two place canopy which really improves the appearance of the otherwise plain Edge. At 84" span this size Edge would normally have about 1200 sq. inches of wing area. Our new plane has an expanded 1390 sq. inches and is strengthened and balanced to carry a heavier engine. The newly redesigned V2 model is 1 to 1.5 lbs lighter than our old V1 Edge, This new Edge 540T is happy with pretty much any good 50cc range engine such as a DA-50. The expanded wing area makes it possible to carry a larger engine and the lighter weight really pushes the performance with a DA-50 into the ballistic range.
